About the artist
Hi! I’m Kay (they/them).
I’m an artist and somatic therapist creating work that explores emotion, identity, and the deeper layers of human experience.
My practice includes “soul portraits”—intuitive, personalized drawings created through conversation, attunement, and embodied awareness. Rooted in trauma-informed and somatic principles, these pieces are less about physical likeness and more about reflecting how you feel, what you carry, and what wants to be seen. The process itself is collaborative and often experienced as both creative and therapeutic.
Alongside this work, I create original paintings and drawings that stand on their own—pieces that emerge from my internal world and artistic process, available for collection. Across both practices, I’m interested in what lives beneath the surface and how it can be expressed, witnessed, and transformed through art.

It was an experience and a half. So much deeper than I thought I was getting myself into. Kayla is so gentle and supportive. Her offering is so unique. She is able to touch such deep places in a gentle way. Her dialogue with me was so thoughtful and she is so present throughout the process. I go to therapy regularly and I found this session with Kayla as a pleasant surprise to uncover different facets of myself. At the end of the process I was left with a beautifully created image that encompassed our conversation. I would highly recommend working with Kayla to uncover issues/trauma in a gentler way. You can also feel supported in knowing she is receptive to places you're not ready to explore yet. The hour spent with Kayla has been so valuable for me. I look forward to working with her some more!

Kayla helped me feel open and at home in the process of this very vulnerable practice.
